A Little Bit About the Show

Winnie-the-Pooh is Christopher Robin’s fat little “bear of very little brain” who would like to drift peacefully through life, humming tunes and stopping frequently to eat “a little something.” However, he finds himself involved in all sorts of frantic adventures, assisted by such friends as the dismal Eeyore, Piglet and Rabbit, with his countless relations. Pooh’s intentions are always the best, but his passion for honey and condensed milk keeps getting him into trouble. When friend Piglet gets roped into Kanga’s household and Kanga starts bathing him (with soap!) and forcing down spoonfuls of Strengthening Medicine, Pooh wants to fly to the rescue, but he’s had so many snacks he gets stuck in the door.

Ordinary People

Conrad Jarrett had an older brother named Buck, and now Buck is gone. What’s left of young Conrad’s family, with his successful, well-intentioned father and his beautiful, organized and remote mother, is in terrible jeopardy, as is Conrad himself. They are all “ordinary people” and each is fighting a hard battle. This play goes to the essence of a young man, his friends and family, their relationships and survival. This full-length play is an extraordinary opportunity for your cast, as each role has a rich texture and purpose that will challenge and stretch your actors. A critic from The New York Times summed up, “The anxiety, despair and joy that is common to every human experience … if Conrad and his family are ordinary people, why then so are we all.”

Children of Eden

Based on the story of Genesis, the age-old conflict of parents and children takes the stage in this epic, heartfelt Stephen Schwartz musical. From musical theatre greats, Stephen Schwartz and John Caird, comes a joyous and inspirational musical about parents, children and faith…not to mention centuries of unresolved family business – an expansive and ambitious musical. Adam, Eve, Noah and the “Father” who created them deal with the headstrong, cataclysmic actions of their respective children. The show ultimately delivers a bittersweet. but inspiring. message: that “the hardest part of love… is letting go.”

Front and Center Players

Eight years ago parents of individuals with intellectual disabilities had a vision to develop a show where there was an opportunity for their loved ones to be able to express themselves through the performing arts. The Front and Center Players have performed each year since 2012 at the November ARC of Decatur County meeting. The show is a one-hour variety show celebrating the dancing, singing, and acting talents of the troupe members. The troupe’s notoriety has continued to grow over the years as has their talent and abilities. Free admission sponsored by: The ARC of Decatur County
